As you may remember, I partnered with Winc this summer to bring you a discount on a box of delicious and affordable summer wines. It was such a fun project, and I was so excited and honored when they reached out about working together again this Fall!
A new season means new wines and Winc has sooo many choices! As you probably know, my boyfriend and I just moved to NYC. Our nearest little grocery doesn’t sell wine, so boxes from Winc are a true blessing. *insert glasses clinking emoji here* I’m excited to be partnering with Winc again this season, so I can have the chance to explore all the wines perfect for these chilly fall nights, and can give you the same opportunity!

So, what is Winc?
Winc is a wine club membership that believes the experience of getting a great bottle of wine should be as simple as enjoying one. Winc was founded in 2012 because of “a shared belief that wine should be more accessible: simpler to get and easier to enjoy.” You can check out the full “how it works” here, but I’m about to cover some of the main takeaways of why you’ll love becoming a member of Winc’s Wine Club.
1] Winc makes it really easy to discover wines that you will like.
When you first sign up for Winc, you take a quick and easy quiz to help set up your palate profile. [The questions are not actually even about wine, so if you’re not exactly a sommelier, don’t freak!] Then, Winc recommends the four wines that should be in your first box, with four bottles that fit into your palate. However, you are welcome to change any bottle out, look around, swap, etc. Then after you receive your wines and try them, you rate them on your Winc profile, and that helps your next set of recommendations.
2] Winc is flexible – skip a month free of charge, or cancel with no commitment!
3] Winc offers satisfaction guaranteed. If you don’t like a bottle, you don’t have to pay for it.
When I first signed up for Winc, I took the palate profile quiz [which asked about my opinions on coffee and truffle flavors, my absolute faves!] and was then given my four recommendations. I ended up keeping two of the recommendations [the reds] and switching out the other two for one white blend and one rosé. This time, I just logged into my account and got to choose the next four wines I wanted. It was so much fun to explore the different pages and read all the descriptions. Just like last time, the wine arrived extremely ahead of time [whoop!], carefully packaged in a large box. This time, instead of the cute educational book, it had a fun “Boozy Bingo” that Winc made in partnership with Freeform.

So, my review?
I am always so grateful for the opportunity to try any wine I have never tried before. Just like this summer, all four of these wines were new to me, and I liked them all differently. The first wine I tried was the Cowtown Cabernet Sauvignon, in my cozy apartment on one of our first really cold nights. Ryan and I each shared a glass snuggled under blankets with a campfire scented candle burning. The wine was perfect for that atmosphere! It’s dry but not too dry, and easy to drink. Winc is described as “tasting notes of baking spice, black cherry, blackberry, chocolate” Next up, was the Chenin Blanc. Winc describes it as tasting of “apple, lemon, pear, pineapple.” Any fruity wine — sign me up! It was again, easy to drink, and crisp and refreshing. Speaking of fruity wines, the third bottle I chose was my favorite. It was a Cocomero Rosé with an adorable scratch and sniff label of cartoon watermelons! Lately I’ve been into strawberry wines, so when I saw this one, I knew I needed it. “Pairs well with sushi and fries”, yup, I’m sold.

The last bottle I tried was the Matchlock Cabernet, which is definitely the most ~fall 🍁🍂 one of them all. With a metallic orange label and hints of baking spice, this is sure to be a favorite. (Ryan and I haven’t tried it yet, but I can’t wait until we do!)
Also – one more thing I’ve discovered about Winc and love?? The option to find a matching recipe to go with your wines. Now that we have our own kitchen, Ry and I loooveee cooking homemade meals. I found so many great recipes to go with these wines, and they are now on our upcoming meals list!
So, how to get your hands on your own Winc???
