November Mood Board

October usually feels like it goes by in the blink of an eye, but this year, I feel like it took its time. I got to enjoy every moment that October had to offer: the good, the bad and the ugly, (though it was mostly all good.) Now, it’s time for November. Fall is officially in the air, as well as some early Christmas music, and I’m SO ready for the season that lies ahead.

I said that last month, everything is ramping up. And if that’s true, then this month – we’re going one step past that, and kicking things into high gear. The leaves have already turned, the weather is dropping drastically by the second, and holidays are right around the corner. While I love how much tradition there is around this time of year (Thanksgiving dinner, family holiday rituals, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, etc.,) I also think that this is a good time to start trying new things.

There are only two months left in this decade (yikes! That’s hard to wrap the mind around…) so let’s make them as incredible and memorable as possible. This month, I am traveling to Monterey, CA to vacation with my entire family for my mom’s birthday. I have never been anywhere in CA (except LA) so this feels like something new and exciting, not to mention — its’ my first time seeing my family since I moved to New York City and started my first full time job. It’s my first time taking PTO, my first time traveling away from my new apartment, my first time flying out of LGA and calling it home instead of saying a heartfelt goodbye.

Enigmatically, I feel like this month could be one of new beginnings; ironically right before the end of the year. So I’m spending this month focusing on finding the new in the old. Don’t let the fact that 2019 is almost over stop you from chasing new experiences and finding adventure wherever you can. Explore a new part of town on a random Friday night, buy tickets to a concert or comedy show you were thinking about but weren’t completely DYING to go to, enter that contest, indulge in a new book, ask someone to dinner, splurge on a last minute trip… You never know where it might lead.

I hope you find a piece of yourself in this month’s mood board, and I hope you revel in the new beginnings this November.
