Kaleido Cosmetics is a beautiful brand of makeup designed, created, and formulated by Chloe Severigny. In the story of how she started her business, she explains, “I plucked up the courage, bought tons of mica, color pigments, cosmetic bases and starting experimenting with Kaleido’s first line of glitter & pigment pans.” How cool is that?! I had been emailing back and forth with Chloe about our partnership, but I didn’t realize she was the founder or that she actually experimented with formulating the makeup!
Kaleido is 100% cruelty free, vegan, talc-free, phthalate free, and paraben free! Chloe designed Kaleido with “as many skin-loving ingredients as possible.” She tries to incorporate as many organic and plant-based ingredients as she can, and I love that! One thing I will say about Kaleido’s eyeshadows are that they are SO deeply pigmented. I was so impressed by the color of the products, and I know that that is because Chloe makes sure each pigment is made true to pan in small batches, to ensure the quality of every piece.
I also noticed that Kaleido’s overall branding and design is so beautiful and tropical, and that the names of each color in every palette are all so different and fun! Chloe explains that she does really enjoy naming each color and usually asks for the help of her girlfriends, AKA, her Vibe Tribe! Each palette packaging is covered in different patterns, palm trees, colors, and decoration. I absolutely love what Kaleido is doing and I cam’t wait to share my review of their products! The three palettes I have are the Vacay Vibes, and the top two bestsellers, Golden Hour and Aquaholic. All three are gorgeous, but I think my favorite has to be Aquaholic, because of how unique and darkly colorful it is!
I love experimenting with eyeshadow so much, and I’m excited to have these to do so whenever I want! Overall, I am extremely pleased with Kaleido’s eyeshadow palettes and would recommend any of them!
LUMI LIGHT HIGHLIGHT STICKS
I also received both Lumi Light highlight sticks, in Flux and Nuclear. I have recently been getting into bronzers and highlighters, so these could not have come at a better time!! I’ve had so much fun playing with them! The box suggests “Glide onto high points of your face [cheekbones, temples, down the middle of your nose] to highlight. Apply onto eyelids as as a shadow base before any eyeshadow to intensify. Dab onto cupid’s bow and fullest part of bottom lip for a full, sensuous pout. Remember to always blend fully for a seamless glow.” I could not wait to get my hands on these.
I have now worn Flux multiple times, and plan to try out Nuclear soon! I have worn Flux on a full face of makeup [using the Golden Hour palette on my eyes] and I have also worn it with no makeup on… I know that may sound crazy, but it most certainly wasn’t once I did it. I noticed when I wore the Lumi Light with my makeup, I needed a decent amount of it for it to show up [compared to most highlights I have tried!]. This weekend I thought, “Why not try it by itself?” so I did, and honestly it added the perfect amount of glow. I definitely plan to wear it alone again, when the opportunity arises. I also plan to use it on my eyelids before putting on eyeshadow soon, as well as dabbing it on my bottom lip!
In conclusion, I think Kaleido Cosmetics is doing great things! I think it’s amazing that Chloe created this brand and made the makeup herself. I think it’s full of fun and aesthetically-pleasing designs and packaging, and I think it has tons of fun products for eyes, lips, cheek, and face! Next, I definitely want to try one of the Astrolight or Gel Quartz highlights. One last thing I wanted to mention is that all of Kaleido’s products are extremely affordable. None of their cosmetics will break the bank, and that’s something I’m always on the lookout for! I think these are great everyday products at an everyday price [Seriously, go look at the prices!] Check out Kaleido’s website and let me know what product you’d most like to try!
Kaleido Cosmetics gifted me with the eyeshadow palettes and highlight crayons free of charge, but as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
