Hey y’all! Happy (almost) spring break!!! I am so excited to be doing my first “What’s In My Bag” post! I see these from my favorite fashion and travel bloggers all the time, and I couldn’t wait for the perfect opportunity to do my own. Spring Break is aways a favorite time, and I figured this seemed like a great chance to do one. Need ideas for what to pack for your Spring Break? Searching for your newest obsession? Look no further!
First things first, my bag itself. I am obsessed with this thing! I literally found it in the Target dollar section (because miracles do happen) and I can’t wait to use it over break. The tote came in multiple colors and patterns, so there’s something for everyone.
Okay, now for the contents.
First on the list is one of my personal favorites, my new shampoo. I am constantly switching up my shampoos because I have yet to find something that makes me feel happy and content with the product I am putting in my hair. Then, a few weeks ago I saw a commercial for the new Herbal Essences’ bio:renew shampoo collection and I decided to give it a try. It promises to be all natural, with zero parabens, gluten and colorants. Instead, it’s made with a blend of antioxidants, aloe, and sea kelp. And let me tell you, it’s absolutely incredible! I am including a real review from an article in Allure magazine just so y’all can have someone else to believe besides me. We aren’t kidding, people! This stuff is to-die-for. It’s not exactly a miracle worker, but it’s definitely a shampoo where I’ve actually noticed a change. And the best part, is it smells AMAZING all. day. long. There are 8 different kinds, and I’ve read multiple posts from different bloggers about them. (They all mention how long the scent lasts!) I think after I finish this bottle, which is Argan Oil of Morocco, I may pick a different one, like Arabica Coffee or White Grapefruit and Mosa Mint. But REPAIR has been working wonders for my hair and it smells incredible. I can’t really describe it, so I’m going to let the website description do it for me: fizzy citrus, exotic spice, and creamy vanilla. It’s. Incredible. I’m seriously in love with it. If you decide to get some, let me know! Please, I’d love to obsess over it with you! Grab your favorite scent at Target for $5.99!
Next up are a couple of my favorite easy on-the-go beauty products… Revlon’s ColorStay foundation is one of my go to products, because it’s a light powder that doesn’t cake on and true to its name, it stays on really well through the sun and sweat that every Spring Break is bound to have. Then there is the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe texturizing sea salt spray. This stuff is SO FUN!!! It’s a light spray so it doesn’t weigh down your hair, and it gives a fun texturized look that literally makes you look like you just left the beach! What could be better for spring break, especially if you aren’t actually hitting the sand and sea? Lastly, one of my favorite products is the Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara. This exact mascara also comes in Waterproof, which I probably should have invested in before a week full of the beach, but for some reason I like to pretend that all makeup I own is already waterproof. Anyway! I really love these products, but I’m always looking for new stuff, so please comment some of your favorite items!!
Lastly, I want to talk about some staple items of any spring break vaycay. Whether you’re going to the beach, ski slopes, or anywhere in between, these products will be ones that you want to take along with you! First, the Mini H2O Aletc Lansing Speaker. I have a different go-to speaker (UE Boom 2) when I’m at home, because it’s beautiful and SUPER loud, but it’s also a little bigger and way bulkier, so for spring break I’ll just be packing this one. It’s also perfect for travel because it has a carabineer to clip on to your bag or backpack and six hours of battery life! It’s also small and waterproof, so if it gets some sand or water on it, it’s not the absolute end of the world. And the best part? It FLOATS! Who knew?? PS. Looking for some perfect Spring Break 2017 jams? Check out my Spring Break Playlist here! Next, my recommended Spring Break drink is La Croix. I don’t know if y’all have ever tried this sparkling water beverage, but I would seriously recommend that you do. If you’re anything like me, you might be a little bit apprehensive about this weird “flavored” bubbly water. I didn’t like it at first either, but I promise, just give it a chance. I used to be addicted to Diet Coke, but this is a way healthier alternative! It has zero calories and zero sweetener! It’s a super refreshing drink for any weather and it has a subtle fruit flavor that doesn’t overwhelm. I obviously enjoy the Mango flavor as seen in the pic, but Coconut and Peach Pear are my other favorites. And what better bottle to hold your drink than the Corksicle Canteen, which keeps drinks ice cold for 24 hours or hot for 12. It’s basically a cute version of the Yeti and no matter where you’re headed for SB’17 you should think about brining one along.
Other than everything I just outlined, I also wanted to mention my first photo included my Canon camera (that white beauty is the love of my life), this month’s Glamour magazine, (I just subscribed at the beginning of 2017 and #inlove), a sparkly black portable phone charger (Forever 21), my favorite Aerie bikini ($29.95 top), my trusty ole’ Kate Spade sunglasses ($160), and my Henri Bendel wallet. Literally can’t go wrong.
I hope this post has helped inspire you with what to pack for your spring break!! Did I forget anything? Let me know in the comments below! I love suggestions 🙂
xoxo, JM
